Digital Wedding Photography is now the Norm for Wedding Photography by Michael Taite
It wasn’t that long ago that most couples getting married were quite happy to chose a wedding photographer that used 35mm rolled film and cameras to take their wedding photographs. Nowadays, digital cameras or digital SLR cameras are the most popular type of camera for wedding photography.
Almost all wedding photographers have mastered many digital wedding photography tips to make the wedding photographs turn out flawlessly. Here are some reasons why digital wedding photography has grown to be so essential for wedding photography and why many couples are choosing digital photographs for their wedding picture.
The Number of Photographs
The photographer using a digital camera can take many photographs without worrying about wasting film. Digital cameras use memory cards to save the photos taken by the camera and so hundreds of photographs can be taken without having to replace the memory card, depending on the size of the memory card. This gives the couple many more options like different poses and backgrounds to choose from for their wedding photo album without incurring the additional costs of using more film and developing.
Also, the photographs that are taken don’t have to be developed to see how they will turn out in print. Every type of digital camera has a viewing screen, some as large as 3 inches, that allows the couple to see how the photograph looks after being taken. Alternatively, the photographs can be uploaded to a laptop to be viewed on a larger screen. Any photographs that the couple doesn’t like can be deleted with the push of a button.
Editing the Photographs
Probably one of the better features of a digital camera is the ability to edit and clean up the photographs. The photographer that practices digital wedding photography can use a computer to download the photographs for editing with a software program that is designed for photo editing.
There are several things that can be done to the photos with a good photo editing program, such as cropping the images, altering the colours of the photograph, and even taking out unwanted elements in the photo to create a perfect wedding photograph. The photos attained by digital wedding photography will produce a beautiful wedding photograph album for the happy couple which will be cherished for years to come.
Some people don’t like the posed photos in wedding photography, but a portrait which includes the bride and/or the groom’s face in close-up range is one of the classic ways to capture the emotions of a wedding.
